§01 · Overview

About Practice Fusion.

Practice Fusion, a Veradigm product, provides an ambulatory EHR with charting, e-prescribing, and lab integrations. While general-purpose, it is used in multi-disciplinary clinics that combine medical services with ABA programs.

§02 · Approach

How Practice Fusion works.

Practice Fusion is a cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) platform owned by Veradigm (formerly Allscripts). Founded in 2005 by Ryan Howard, Alan Wong, Jonathan Malek, and Matthew Douglass, the company has grown to serve thousands of independent U.S. physicians and healthcare professionals managing millions of patient records.

The platform provides core EHR functionality including patient charting, electronic prescribing (eRx), medical billing, laboratory and imaging center integrations, referral capabilities, and a patient health record portal. Designed specifically for small and independent healthcare practices, Practice Fusion operates on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model with pricing starting at $149 per month for base EHR services.

Headquartered in San Francisco, California, Practice Fusion operates as a subsidiary of Veradigm following its acquisition in January 2018. The company is trusted by over 28,000 independent U.S. physicians and has processed over 100 million patient records. The platform emphasizes secure cloud-based access and simplified workflows for coordinated patient care across small to mid-size healthcare organizations.

Practice Fusion has achieved Meaningful Use certification and provides comprehensive training and support to healthcare practices implementing the system. The EHR is positioned as a reliable alternative to larger enterprise systems, focusing on the specific needs of independent and community-based medical practices.

This company has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with and I would not recommend them to anyone. I've had to file a complaint with the Attorney General and contact their executive team to escalate my concerns and still.... the issue was not addressed correctly. I will be canceling at the end of my contract. You get what you pay for.

I wasn't able to add prescribing credentials to test the EMR without subscribing, even to utilize the "free" 14 day trial, so I added my credit card, assuming I could cancel within 14 days, as this is what 14 day trial period means. Within a few days of trying to send medications for my patients, I knew Practice Fusion would not work for my practice model and cancelled. I cancelled within mere days and they won't let me out of the contract. I have to pay for a full year for something that I will never use and cancelled within their 14 day trial period. This company is a scam! Do not subscribe! Why would a legitimate company not allow a provider to cancel, if the program doesn't work for their needs, especially within the first week, if not the advertised "14 day trial period?"

As a patient, I have never been able to get this ro work inspired of multiple toys by my medical provider. Now a new provider is using it and I can't register because it has locked in my email with the provider that can't make it work. Noone to go to to unlock my account. Been trying for several years. Stay away from this program.

They are great the first month but once you have signed the contact and completed training support is zero to nothing and when you pay for update they do not deliver. To add insult to injury when you finally do get support on the phone (very hard to do) it’s as if they are seriously stoned or utterly disconnected from reality. All that said the scheduling and records keeping software works. At 150 bucks a month it’s a bit of a hard pill to swallow for a small practice but then they all are.

The most horrific customer service on the planet. Took 8 business days to reply to help request for a serious issue impacting patient care. We have had the subscription for over 2 months for one of our prescribers and she continues to be unable to utilize most of the features. No one returns calls. They will not release us from our contract despite proof that they have not delivered on 90% of the promise of services that we have continued to be billed for. As soon as our contract is up we will be terminating.
