About NueMD.
NueMD provides charting, scheduling, and revenue cycle tools with a focus on smaller practices. Its clearinghouse integration supports electronic claims to most commercial and Medicaid payers and is compatible with common ABA CPT codes.
How NueMD works.
NueMD is a practice management, electronic health record, and medical billing software platform acquired by AdvancedMD in July 2018. Originally founded in 1993 at Georgia Tech's Advanced Technology Development Center, NueMD has served outpatient practices across multiple specialties for over three decades.
The platform integrates charting, scheduling, and revenue cycle management tools with a focus on smaller to mid-sized practices. Its direct-to-payer clearinghouse delivers same-day claims processing to nearly all commercial and Medicaid payers. NueMD also supports Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) billing, including ABA-specific CPT codes, making it relevant for behavioral health and therapy practices.
Headquartered in Marietta, Georgia, NueMD operates across three continents and serves a diverse provider base. The company employs between 19 and 501 staff members depending on source and time period, reflecting organizational changes following its acquisition by AdvancedMD.
Importantly, AdvancedMD announced that NueMD software and all support will be retired effective December 31, 2026. Existing users should plan migration strategies well in advance of this end-of-life date.

If you want to run your practice into the ground use this software. If you enjoy waiting for a page to load while you are trying to see patients you will love this software. If you feel good about paying hundreds of dollars a month for data storage use this software. You’ll be in heaven. If you enjoy waiting for the 24 hour support to answer your questions about a malfunctioning useless ehr program then NueMd /AdvancedMd is the software for you! Prefer half completed physical exam templates? Look no further.

We expressed our unhappiness for this software shortly after the training sessions had ended. We were told by our salesman that he couldn't imagine any other costs involved with the base price that we were quoted... We have been charged monthly for a laundry list, ranging from $50-$150 unexpected charges. Each provider is charged if they want to bill. They is an additional charge for setting them up for e-prescribe and then a monthly bill for the ability to e-prescribe. We're switching to Aethena next month. It sounded pricey from the beginning, but NueMD wound up costing us a lot more is both time it takes to get through charting for one patient, and ALL of the additional charges. Our monthly quote went from 400 up to $2000 in the first year. No support is available on the weekends (and considering we're open 7 days a week, that was very disappointing). The quality measures checks for Medicare is a joke and they have just now added a few more questions that do no relate at all to our patients... mainly hospice/end of life care. We've been asking for this to be updated for a year. We do our own billing, but if you send one 400 claims, you are charged for each claim over that amount. There are NO interfaces with labs or imaging centers (unless you want to pay for the interfaces to be created). Buy a top of the line fax machine and be prepared to cut down a lot of trees for results and orders being sent back and forth. It has simply been a frustrating mess. The main provider is over 400 charts behind because of the time it takes to chart on each patient. And their ICD 10 and CPT codes are out of date!! If you want to update changes... you have to do it yourself (as I was told). STAY AWAY FROM THIS SOFTWARE. We're seeing anywhere from 40-70 patients a day and this system is not built for even the quietest solo practice in the middle of nowhere. Spend the money and go with a well known system like eClinical works, Cerner or Athena. NueMd is the worst.
