Insurance, waitlists, modalities, and how the directory ranks clinics - the questions families and care coordinators ask before reaching out to a provider.
Use the city tile grid on /find-aba to open the directory for a U.S. city, or browse by state to see the full statewide roster. Each city page lists local ABA clinics in Index order, and lets you filter by child age band, setting (in-clinic / in-home / telehealth / school), language, and reported waitlist status. Where clinics have reported the insurance plans they accept, the page also links to a list of the clinics reporting each plan.
Only some clinics have told ABA Rank which plans they accept so far, so most listings do not show insurance yet. Where a clinic has, its plans appear on its profile, and city and state pages link to a list of the clinics that report accepting each plan. Networks vary within a carrier, so confirm your specific plan with the clinic before intake.
Wait times vary by region, insurance, and clinic, and ABA Rank does not publish a typical figure. A clinic that reports its waitlist status shows it on its card with the month it was last updated, and city and state pages can filter to clinics reporting open or limited availability. Most clinics have not reported a status yet, so ask each one directly about current openings.
Clinic category rankings use the same 100-point public Index as the rest of ABA Rank: 60 points from qualified public reviews, 35 points from decision facts, and 5 points from primary-category fit. The clinic finder orders results by the same Index - score first, then, within a tie, the clinic that discloses more of the facts families decide on, then name - and lists clinics below the evidence floor after the numbered ones, without a number. None of it can be bought: claiming a profile is free, and no paid plan moves a clinic. There is no hidden referral commission. Methodology is fully disclosed at /how-we-rank.
Verification is optional and disclosed. Verified clinics complete a BACB credential audit (BCBA / BCaBA roster), a license check against the state board, and a profile-data review by the ABA Rank editorial team. Unverified clinics remain listed but are clearly marked, and verified clinics gain a verification seal plus a refreshed verification date. Verification is not a paid ranking boost, and it is not an Index input.
ABA Rank lists clinics that report in-clinic (center-based), in-home, school-based, and telehealth ABA, among other settings. Use the modality filter on any city or state page to narrow the directory to clinics that report the setting your child needs. Clinic profiles also show the age bands served (early intervention, school-age, adolescent, adult) and languages, where the clinic has reported them.
ABA therapy is most often billed to insurance - commercial plans, Medicaid, and Tricare are required to cover medically necessary ABA in every U.S. state. Self-pay rates typically run $80–$250 per hour depending on region, supervision ratio, and BCBA involvement. Each ABA Rank clinic profile discloses its self-pay rate band and accepted plans when published; there is no paid placement, so listings reflect operational data rather than ad spend.
