Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center is a state-contracted non-profit organization that coordinates comprehensive developmental services for individuals with disabilities and their families across Los Angeles County. Operating since 1966, Lanterman serves as a regional center—a state-funded administrative agency—that assesses needs, develops individualized service plans, and connects clients with community resources.
The organization serves over 9,000 clients of all ages with developmental disabilities who live in Burbank, Central Los Angeles, Eagle Rock, Glendale, Hollywood/Wilshire, La Cañada, La Crescenta, and Pasadena. Rather than directly providing therapy services, Lanterman coordinates and purchases services from licensed providers, including assessment, early intervention, family support, and skill development programs.
Lanterman provides critical service coordination functions including lifelong individualized planning, assistance locating and accessing community resources, advocacy for legal and service rights, and quality assurance of contracted services. The center also offers family support, training and educational opportunities, and community outreach and education about developmental disabilities.
As a private non-profit operating under contract with California's Department of Developmental Services, Lanterman plays a central role in the developmental services system for residents in its service area, ensuring eligible individuals receive coordinated access to necessary supports and services throughout their lives.

It’s been 3 months waiting after we completed all evaluations. Many delays without communication, case sitting on coordinator desk, referral center has had out case for 5 weeks, no communication. Contact coordinator Daisy, does not return calls. I’m not happy, services should have started by now and I’ve contacted Daisy 3 times with week including text, no response at all. Please send our case to some that cares. Plan to file a complaint.
I wish I could say something positive. But my experience with this place has been HORRIFIC. DO NOT BRING YOUR DAUGHTERS HERE!!!!! They have absolutely no idea how to spot autism in girls, I had to fight to get my daughter services. We’re supposedly getting them now. I say supposedly because I’ve been waiting OVER A YEAR TO BE REIMBURSED. My coordinator sends me documents referring to my daughter as HIM and today sent me my daughters IPP which referred to my daughter as MATEO! I’m honestly amazed that my coordinator has actually managed to keep her job with the amount of mistakes that she makes constantly. The incompetence at this place is off the charts staggering. DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY
I haven’t meant any of my services they make me fill out a bunch of paper which is pointless because I’m not getting anywhere I’ve send them so many messages email nothing be careful with Alicia she is always making excuses and never answer phone calls and I’m tired of this shit because it’s getting out of hand I’m about cuss these people out because I’m trying to keep my cool and I’ve talk to so many people and no one hasn’t called me back
Regional is Meant to gate keep services from your child and give you the run around I have asked for a different service coordinator multiple times and did not get a change for some reason I still have the same service coordinator I’ve cussed these people out multiple times because needs aren’t being met.I’m asking for respite care and child care services they called the police and dcfs on me for requesting additional care stay away from Stephanie Padilla she is a terrible service coordinator and be prepared to fight for services if you are black I still haven’t received medical equipment Padilla likes to lie about the services and gate keeps resources today she came by to “drop toys off” then turns around and calls the police on me all because i told regional center I needed respite care be careful with your words when speaking to these people regional is a a set up to get you frustrated and blow up beware if you are a black family they do not care or know how to communicate properly DEI training is needed for Stephanie she lacks it and I’m pretty sure she is not the only service coordinator who does. The most unorganized service coordinator I’ve ever met her supervisor Megaly approves of the way she is handling things I can only imagine how many others are struggling without proper coordination of services. Mind you most of them work from home so I’m not sure why they suck at their jobs to my knowledge Padilla is fairly new and doesn’t know what she’s doing every time I call her, her kids are in the back screaming and running around being loud just seems so unprofessional when working with special needs families her communicative skills are horrible and her answer for everything is “idk I have to ask my supervisor” please SPEAK UP and BE ASSERTIVE FROM THE START DONT PLAY NICE NICE DOESNT GET YOU ANYWHERE
My son has no service coordinator at this time. His last one quit after a few weeks. Three service coordinators in one year. At this moment I have to leave messages and pray someone will return my calls. Work culture has changed a lot; one would think someone will ask why there is a high turnover in this organization. Unfortunately, it becomes clear why there is a high rate of homelessness. People who need help have to navigate a labyrinth of lack of staff, unreturned phone calls and lack of concern. It was not like this before. I worked with good people from this office five to seven years ago.
