Dr. Viner is an amazing human and talented Psychiatrist. It's rare to find a doctor/founder who is so invested in each and every case as well as the overall program. I trust his clinical expertise immensely! Please keep in mind when reading other comments that the population served at Yellowbrick is young adults who need comprehensive psychiatric care. They are meeting people and families in a very, very difficult place in their lives and helping them to heal and thrive. This type of work is not for the faint of heart, and they are experts at it. I absolutely trust Dr. Viner to take good care of young adults in need of intensive mental health care that may have not had successful results at other programs. He's the best at what he does!

Warning to potential patients and their families: I strongly urge anyone considering this provider to exercise extreme caution. In my experience, this practice targets individuals who are already vulnerable—particularly those with a history of abuse—and then subjects them to manipulative and psychologically damaging methods under the guise of treatment. These tactics appear designed to foster dependency on the program rather than true healing. Patients may be isolated from their support systems and subjected to coercive “therapeutic” techniques that resemble reprogramming rather than care. Once insurance benefits or financial resources are depleted, patients are often abruptly dismissed—frequently in a much worse mental and emotional state than when they arrived. In some cases, this approach has reportedly led to long-term psychological harm and even contributed to tragic outcomes, including suicides. It is my sincere hope that others can avoid the pain and devastation that I and others have experienced. Please research thoroughly and seek second opinions. True healing does not require control, isolation, or financial exploitation.

I have worked in the field for 25+ years and visited Yellowbrick and cross-referred with them. They are one of the premiere treatment settings for emerging adults in the world and have been at the cutting edge of this field long before it was fashionable. The quality of their treatment team and therapeutic community is second to none. When I had a young family member need care they were the ones I called. I recommend them without reservation.

yellowbrick has a thing against using the word "punishment" for whatever actions that they might use against their own clients at any given moment. however, i dont think they should be able to choose which words people get to use when they banned a client from the residential building for a week and made them homeless for the sin of struggling with their attendance. i got kicked out for the same reason, and the only reason i'm not temporarily homeless instead is because my family (who lives in the area, thank god) fought against me being banned from the residence, specifically because yellowbrick tried to convince them to ban me from home for the week too.

Yellowbrick seems to operate mostly in the interest of revenue as opposed to the well being of its patients, as it claims. I was at Yellowbrick for 8 months and in that time was heavily retraumatized by other patients with staff refusing to interfere, and also victim blamed by a member of administrative staff. A very close friend of mine who was another patient here passed away due to OD a few months after leaving. I felt very little empathy from the higher-ups here and felt i was treated as a nuisance whenever I had a complaint or worry. I warn any prospective patients to be careful and consider your options. I've had better experiences at not-for-profit hospitals and treatment centers.
