I was here in 1995 or 1996, my biological father was here in the 60s or 70s. So were my brothers. This place was great when I was there. I was like 6 or 7. I remember them taking us to six flags, camping and I remember them giving us a bunch of gifts for christmas. Father Smith was very kind to the children, and I remember us going to Indian grove school. I remember the ziggy building, all that. This was over 30 years ago. The Jordan family came and adopted me and gave me a beautiful childhood. I keep in touch with them to this day as they are my family. They came to pick me up from Maryville. Ill never forget Scott, Tawanda, David, Bonnie, and that one office manager with the golden retriever puppy. This place kept me safe until I was adopted. Im so glad they're still helping children that dont have families.
I grew up in maryville was living there since the age of im guessing 9 in the 90s I’m 36 now I had to move out because they were closing down because so many bad things were happening I was like 15 16 yrs old when I had to move away I was so sad that was the only family I knew at that time before all the violence happened and they had to close it down too reopened it.😩 I was always grateful for the activities, Mystic waters, six flags and the best days and memories I have were on Christmas when they showered all the kids with garbage bags Full of gifts. My most memorable memories were camping. They used to take us to Wisconsin Eagle River or Crystal Lake oh, how I miss those days Stock pantry with food, supportive staff and plenty of fun activities, sports schools on campus basketball teams, and recreational things to do like swimming on campus 🙏 I wish I could remember all the staff I used to stay in the Reeding home And another two homes I can’t remember the names right on the same campus Father Smith was very memorable also I can go on all day 🥲🙏
You don't find too many amazing people any more I remember Father Smith's sermons and how exceptional of a person he is. I. Met a lady from Jen school at Maryville we chatted about him.Miss the good old days!
Hello all, I attended here as a troubled youth in the 80's. I was saved and mentored my a Counselor named Darrell Robinson. I wish I could find him to thank him!! David Green
I used to be a student here in st Vincent/st John home. Been years since I’ve been there but always was a great faculty towards the kids. Maybe someday we can do a get together for older students
