About Optum.
Optum provides Applied Behavior Analysis therapy services for children and adults with autism spectrum disorder. Based in Eden Prairie, MN, the organization employs Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians to deliver center-based, home-based, and school-based ABA therapy.
How Optum works.
Optum is a health services and innovation company owned by UnitedHealth Group that operates in the behavioral health and autism care space. Rather than directly operating ABA therapy centers, Optum functions as a managed behavioral health administrator and payer, contracting with independent Board Certified Behavior Analysts and qualified ABA agencies to deliver services within its network.
Optum recruits and networks qualified ABA providers—including BCBAs in solo practice and established agencies—to serve individuals with autism spectrum disorder. The company covers ABA therapy services across multiple delivery modalities and manages the authorization and coordination of care within its behavioral health network.
Headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Optum operates nationally as part of the larger UnitedHealth Group enterprise. The organization employs over 100,000 people across its health services operations and serves as a significant administrator of behavioral health benefits and provider networks in the United States.

They Deleted my sons medical records from his mychart after abandoning his pediatrician and customer service refused to send them to the doctor. OPTUM then gave me the number for the facility they just closed after being forwarded three times between United and Optum. I found their online request forms from Claude ai. Their only function is administrative and they cannot handle it

Optum in Everett Washington is not well managed. Before it became Optum it was called The Everett clinic. Once Optum bought them, the changes occurred and have only gotten worse. I've had chronic issues for years. So being referred to a dermatology department was done. However, this year it has been painful for me but also Optums bureaucracy. Let's start with mychart. Optum sends us emails and mailers telling us patients how great and advanced mychart is. After all mychart is the future. Let's be honest as a patient that's been using mychart from Optum. Mychart has system issues. Also, mychart messenger is limited to a certain amount of characters. Hmm, it can take 2-3 business days before any messages are returned. Having a chronic illness in the summer and being prescribed the wrong medication. Then I reach out to my Doctor who takes a culture of my situation. Now I have the proper diagnosis. I'm placed in the correct treatment plan and medication. For almost 2 months most likely I should have been referred to another provider who knows more. Or I should have been given the correct tests. One uses mychart to send the information of what's happening. Doesn't look like it gets reviewed by anyone or looked into. Most likely deleted. I can't tell. Who's looking at the information. You are told as a patient to go to the Walk-in clinic. The Walk-in clinic is not necessarily available all the time. Not all the staff and Doctors have the same qualifications. With an illness sometimes they can help. Other times the staff just look at you and say head back to the Dermatologist department because they know what to do. What a joke being sent back and forth. Here we're just days away from Christmas and New Year's. It's holiday time. For many its vacation time. Unfortunately I'm having another chronic illness episode. Now, I'm being referred to another provider. I receive a message through mychart of the great news. I called the provider I'm being referred to only to be told that no appointments are available until next year. And I totally understand it's the holidays season. Many Doctor's and staff are on vacation. I don't blame them. Now I find myself in between providers. One Optum telling me "sorry we can't help, go there". Then the other providers telling me "sir until we get your paperwork we can't help", "however if you need assistance call 911 or go to our ER hospital". I've been a patient of this medical provider since 1998. Current customer service is the worst. Departments don't communicate properly between themselves. They act as silos from each other. Being transferred and tossed that another department will help. Messages not being returned. To be handed off just before the holidays really speaks to Optums lack of customer service. Do better. Order the right testing needed the 1st time. Refer patients to other local providers if you are unable to help.

Do NOT use one pass select. They just raised prices almost 70% and didn't notify a significant amount of users. Scoured my email using their exact wording that they supposedly sent and found nothing. Not in spam, junk, trash, main inbox or anywhere. People reported the same on reddit. I canceled the second I saw the price increase hit my credit card. But that was 3 days too late to not be charged an extra month since they require 30 days advanced notice to cancel. No extra benefits or past gyms that got cancelled were added back into my tier list. No tangible benefits whatsoever. And this is supposed to be something subsidized through my work as a benefit. Doesn't feel like it. I'd suggest very much staying away from one pass.

My primary care physician entered into a partnership with Optum about a year and a half ago. When the physician had his private practice, the service was great. Since going with Optum, the service has been nothing but poor. This review is NOT against my physician, I think he still does a wonderful job. I believe the lack of resources, limited training, and the poor practices, and procedures set forth by Optum are severely limiting the office's customer service. No one ever returns phone calls, thereby forcing patients to use a portal. However, when submitting things through the portal, documents are often lost and can't be located. My family members who also use this same office can never seem to get procedures correctly scheduled with area hospitals. This leads me to believe the systems set forth by Optum and the training for those systems is limited for the office employees. It's unfortunate, because my doctor is great, but Optum management is NOT.

I have been using Optum mail order for about 20 years last 2 years have been getting unsatisfactory service. Takes two days for refills to be mailed and am now on my 18th day of waiting for delivery. In past was mailed same day as ordered and received in 4 days. I have requested they send my orders UPS instead of USPS ( snail mail) but they still send it USPS. There delivery time is so bad I am switching all my prescriptions to Walmart who are doing a great job mail order.
