Woodfords Family Services

Woodfords Family Services is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting and including people with special needs and their families in Maine communities. Founded in 1967 by Alan and Katrina Rich in response to the lack of specialized educational services for their son, the organization has grown into a comprehensive provider of behavioral health and developmental services across Maine.

The organization's service offerings are grounded in evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and include developmental preschools, mental health services, family support, case management, community support, therapeutic foster care, and shared living arrangements. Board Certified Behavior Analysts develop individualized treatment plans for each client, with services delivered across center-based, home-based, and school-based settings.

Wodfords Family Services operates from its headquarters in Westbrook, Maine, with satellite locations in Manchester, Waterville, and Topsham. The organization serves individuals across 11 of Maine's 16 counties and works with more than 1,500 families annually, as well as numerous schools and community organizations. With approximately 500 employees, Woodfords is one of Maine's largest providers of specialized services for individuals with developmental and behavioral health needs.

The organization is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), a designation reflecting the agency's commitment to high performance standards and quality improvement. This accreditation underscores Woodfords' dedication to evidence-based practices and continuous enhancement of services for the populations it serves.
