Christopher's Haven

Christopher's Haven is a nonprofit organization located in Boston, Massachusetts, dedicated to supporting families of children undergoing cancer treatment at nearby hospitals. Founded in 2001 by Dan Olsen, a local actor and cancer survivor, the organization addresses the critical need for affordable, accessible housing and emotional support during pediatric cancer care.

The organization operates seven fully-furnished residential apartments and a community recreation area called The Loft, located across from Massachusetts General Hospital. More than 250 families have stayed in these apartments since the organization's founding. The housing is provided at no cost to families, removing a major financial and logistical burden during their child's treatment.

Beyond housing, Christopher's Haven provides comprehensive support services including therapeutic recreation programs, counseling, yoga classes, wellness activities, and financial assistance. Daily activities and programming are designed to help children maintain normalcy and continue being kids while their families navigate treatment. Services are free to all residents and focus on lifting spirits and providing community support.

The organization is led by an Executive Director and maintains an active presence in the Boston community through partnerships with local hospitals and cancer treatment centers. Christopher's Haven operates as a resource for families facing one of life's most challenging experiences, combining practical housing support with emotional and recreational wellness programming.
