§02 · Approach
How Texas Association for Behavior Analysis works.
The Texas Association for Behavior Analysis (TxABA) is a nonprofit member organization founded in 1985 that serves behavior analysts across Texas through professional development, networking, and advocacy. As an ABAI-affiliated chapter and partner of the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts, TxABA facilitates knowledge exchange between researchers and practitioners while addressing policy and insurance matters affecting the profession statewide.
Since 1986, TxABA has hosted an annual scientific conference featuring presentations from researchers and practitioners worldwide on the latest findings in behavior analysis. The organization expanded its offerings in 2021 with a webinar speaker series providing free continuing education units to members, and in 2024 launched its first regional conference in El Paso with plans for continued expansion beyond Austin.
TxABA operates through four key committees and special interest groups that connect members and advance the discipline. In 2014, the organization supported the creation of the TxABA Public Policy Group, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization dedicated to monitoring state legislation and advocating for professional licensing and insurance parity in Texas. Membership provides access to conference discounts, free CEU webinars, and peer connection among behavior analysts across the state.

It’s just weird! I need to get my son screened for autism. I went to the neurologist. He gave me a list of centers to go to. This place feels like a sales call. They’re hard to get a hold of. The “director, Frank” calls you to see if you need a tour of the facility before you’ve even taking a test. Then you get a call from somebody who says they want to test your child virtually. I said I want an in person visit, and they insist on virtual. absolutely not - I would not recommend
