Extremely Difficult to Cancel — Charged After Written Cancellation. I strongly recommend that businesses understand RingCentral’s cancellation process before signing up. I canceled in writing on August 10 during the contractual 30-day trial period. The agreement specifically allows termination by written notice. RingCentral acknowledged receiving my cancellation request, yet on August 15 they charged my credit card $643.03. What should have been a simple cancellation has consumed hours of my time. I initially spent considerable time trying to cancel by phone. I was transferred between departments, told Retentions/Customer Success had to handle it, and eventually moved the matter to email. RingCentral then demanded an extension number and the answer to a security question. I provided the extension information as I understood it, but they said it was invalid. I explained that I do not know what security question they have on the account, so obviously I cannot know which answer they are requesting. I have repeatedly stated that I am willing to reasonably verify my identity. Instead of providing a practical alternative and completing the cancellation, RingCentral continues refusing to close the account and refund the $643.03. The matter has now reached their Executive Response Team, and I have filed a BBB complaint and disputed the charge with my credit-card company. As a business owner, the most frustrating part is the extraordinary amount of time this has consumed. I simply wanted to exercise the cancellation right contained in the agreement. I will update this review if RingCentral resolves the matter.

RingCentral desk top app. I realize I am one small fish independent worker. But before you commit make sure all the bugs are worked out in RingCentral. The desk top app was my nightmare. Ticket after ticket and hours of my time with the tech group trying to resolve my video issues. I had to pay the remaining months on my contract and being a 1099 position with a very large company was really frustrating. I would not recommend them. I would do lots of research before using their system.

I have been using ring central for the past 2 + years and have to say it is one of the best decisions i made for my business's. It is a great system with a lot of phone system variation like the old pbx type style phone systems.. the only thing i wish was better is the ability to stream like a radio station for hold music variation. Other than that i have had very little issues and minimal down time.

I really appreciate having voicemails transcribed and emailed to me, makes multi-tasking a breeze! Professional walk-through in the beginning, much better than the previous company I was considering.
