Kaymbu is a visual messaging and authentic assessment platform designed for early childhood education providers. The company was founded in 2012 by MIT parents and is based in the Boston/Cambridge area, operating as a privately held firm with approximately 21–25 employees as of early 2026.
The platform enables educators to document child development through photo sharing, create student portfolios, generate school newsletters, and produce dynamic photo books. Kaymbu strengthens home-school relationships by connecting digital-native parents with early childhood educators through visual documentation and real-time communication. The system supports multilingual messaging, making it accessible to diverse family populations.
Kaymbu serves Head Start programs, state preschools, private preschools, and childcare centers. Beyond family engagement, the platform includes instructional planning tools with integrated curriculum options and authentic assessment capabilities for tracking child development milestones.
