§FAQ.01
What is ABA Access Control?
Access Control is a service-vendor subcategory inside the IT / security services group on ABA Rank. ABA Rank indexes 21 firms that operate in access control and ranks each on the same disclosed 100-point Index used across the rest of the services directory - qualified public reviews, decision facts, and primary-category fit, with no paid tier among the inputs.
§FAQ.02
How does ABA Rank rank access control firms?
Every firm in the Access Control subcategory is scored on the same 100-point Index used across the rest of ABA Rank: 60 points from qualified public reviews, 35 points from decision facts (engagement models, minimum project size, whether new clients are accepted, and industries served), and 5 points from primary-category fit. As of methodology v3.0 no paid product contributes any Index points, and sponsored placements render in labeled slots above the ranked list rather than mixing into it. Methodology is fully disclosed at /how-we-rank.
§FAQ.03
Which access control firm ranks #1 on ABA Rank today?
The current #1 in Access Control is the top entry on this page; rankings refresh every night so the leader can change between visits. ABA Rank does not endorse a single permanent winner - the public Index recomputes from its three disclosed inputs (qualified public reviews, decision facts, and primary-category fit) on a nightly cadence, and any firm that improves its disclosed inputs can move up.
§FAQ.04
How many access control firms are listed on ABA Rank?
21 firms are currently ranked under Access Control on ABA Rank. The directory is an editorial index of operating U.S. ABA firms; defunct or out-of-market entries are removed.
§FAQ.05
What does Verified mean for access control firm on ABA Rank?
Verified means the listing subscribes to ABA Rank Verified, a review of the listing itself: that the firm controls it (proven with a work email at its own domain, its published phone number or its Google Business Profile), that its website answers over HTTPS, and that the profile is substantially complete, with any listed NPI checked against the federal NPPES registry. Software runs every check it can confirm and a reviewer handles the rest; the profile shows the date the review passed, or that it is still in progress. Verified service vendors carry a seal; unverified vendors remain ranked but are clearly marked. Verification is not a paid ranking boost.
§FAQ.06
How much do access control firms cost?
Access Control pricing varies widely by service line, and ABA Rank does not publish service-firm pricing, so ask each firm for a quote. For deeper procurement work, /post-a-project builds a shortlist of up to 5 firms in the category whose owners have claimed their listing, and you choose which of them receive your brief.
§FAQ.07
How does ABA Rank decide which firms qualify for Access Control?
Owners choose their categories; ABA Rank reviews and removes ones that don’t fit. Firms that span multiple subcategories appear in each one rather than being forced into a single bucket.
§FAQ.08
How can a firm get listed in Access Control?
Any owner or authorized representative of an eligible firm can claim a free listing. Claimed profiles unlock the editable fields that drive the Index, and Verified ($490/yr) and Sponsor ($1,490/yr) tiers are optional paid upgrades disclosed in the methodology. New firms that are not yet on ABA Rank can be submitted at /suggest-vendor; submissions are reviewed weekly and approved listings typically appear within seven to ten days.
