What service modalities does Neurobehavioral Institute offer?
Neurobehavioral Institute offers clinic-based, in-home, and telehealth services.
Neurobehavioral Institute is a clinical practice co-founded by Drs. Katia Moritz and Jonathan Hoffman in 2000, specializing in evidence-based treatment for anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders across the lifespan. The organization integrates multiple therapeutic approaches including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Executive Function Training (EFT) to provide comprehensive care tailored to individual needs. NBI operates from two primary locations in South Florida: Coral Gables and Weston. The practice serves children as young as three years old through adults, recognizing that anxiety and OCD can affect individuals across all age groups. While ABA is a core component of their treatment philosophy, the organization is distinguished by its integrative approach that combines behavioral, cognitive, and functional training methodologies. Beyond individual therapy, Neurobehavioral Institute offers a range of coordinated services designed to support families and maximize treatment outcomes. These include family therapy, diagnostic psychological testing, parent training and coaching, intensive treatment programs, DBT skills training, therapeutic and support groups, executive function coaching, equine therapy, and nutritional guidance. The organization is committed to removing barriers to care through flexible service delivery options. NBI provides services through multiple modalities to meet clients where they are: clinic-based treatment at their Florida offices, in-home assessments and interventions for special circumstances, and confidential virtual telehealth services for out-of-state clients. The practice serves Spanish and Portuguese-speaking communities in their native languages, reflecting a commitment to culturally responsive care. Parent training and family involvement are integrated throughout the treatment process.
Neurobehavioral Institute delivers individualized ABA therapy in a center, in the home and via telehealth, built around each child’s goals.

When I found it Neurobehavioral Institute, I was completely consumed by fear and not truly living life—my Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder was in complete control. I was ready to get help, but struggled to find anyone willing to take on my case because of its complexity—my OCD was intertwined with Bardet-Biedl Syndrome, a rare genetic condition. NBI immediately said “yes” and took a leap of faith on my case. Their willingness to treat me was truly life-changing. I spent six months at NBI working tirelessly to overcome my fears and slowly take my life back from OCD. The work was extremely hard, but I couldn’t have done it without the unwavering support of my incredible clinicians, who continuously encouraged me to face my fears and push beyond what I thought was possible. Because of the work I did at NBI, I am now living a full and meaningful life, and OCD no longer controls me. Today, I share my story to help others who are fighting their own battles with OCD.
I struggled with ocd since I was 8 years old. I met Dr. Moritz at the age of 14. When I met Dr. Moritz she and the rest of Nbi saved my life. I was struggled with crazy thoughts similar to the Truman show. I was so lost i couldn’t function because the ocd was so severe. After working with NBI I got my life back together and my ocd is under control. I went to boarding school and made a bunch of friends. NBI saved my life i wish there was a way I could thank NBI for saving my life. They are the best.
I've seen the lifesaving work done here. If someone's motivated, there's no better place for OCD treatment.
We recommend the very high quality approach to treatment taken by Dr Hoffman and Dr Padron. Our son has severe obsessive compulsive disorder and other mental health disorders. And we live in the United Kingdom. Despite the manifold and deep-seated problems posed by the COVID-19 epidemic and the intrinsic difficulties of engaging properly, both Dr Hoffman and Dr Padron have displayed immense patience and tact, as well as employing highly sophisticated and skilled techniques in engaging with us. We remain profoundly grateful to them for their intellectually luminous, positive and progressive treatment that contrasts markedly with the negative and regressive mental illness treatment system currently prevailing in the United Kingdom. There are very good and highly gifted individual psychiatrists and therapists in the UK but the system is paralysed and broken. In some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable, Dr Hoffman and Dr Padron are relentlessly proactive and reach out. Thank you very much to them. Best wishes.
This place is completely absurd. They throw multiple diagnosis at you and try to put you in a box. They make you feel stupid and worse about yourself. As well as making you feel inferior, especially Dr. Hoffman. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Don’t come, here don’t waste your time and money.
