My daughter was supposed to receive counseling through Horizon for anxiety associated with her ADHD diagnosis. I did the intake via zoom before the appointment. The only day they could get her in was on her birthday. We went & waited … & waited … & waited. After an HOUR waiting, we were finally told that the provider went home after being there half the day. She called later to apologize & told me that she didn’t realize she had another appointment. WHAT?! I told her I’d prefer another provider because I’d lost faith in her. The next thing I knew, we received a letter in the mail that they had no providers that took our insurance & gave us names of other places we could go. It has been over a year since that happened & I am still getting a bill for $134.62 for the intake zoom with a nurse. Now, I would not have a problem paying that if my daughter had actually received services. I did the intake in good faith that she would. She did not. I have told them that they need to just write the amount off. I should not have to pay that when she did not receive the services we were promised. I have talked to several people, including a manager, who said they’d get back to me, but I haven’t heard anything back. Yet, I continue to get bills in the mail. I’m not sure what’s going on there, but with all of the recent poor reviews, they need to do some major changes & figure out how to do better. They are causing MORE stress on people who are already struggling & looking to them for help. At this point, I would tell people to go anywhere else. Don’t use Horizon. They seem to be disorganized, to not care about their patients and are a strain on the mental health of potential clients AND their families.
Tried to call with a problem I needed help with. Tried to explain what was going but the person I talked to clearly wasn't understanding what I was saying. I wasn't yelling, I wasn't cursing. I told her that she wasn't listening to what I was saying and she hung up on me. Just a terrible way to handle phone calls at a.. mental.. health.. facility. I'm so blown away.
I called to schedule an appointment on 3/29/25. I was scheduled for 4/11/25 for financial intake and then 4/14/25 for therapy intake. On the original phone call, I informed them that I had no insurance and was self pay. I was quoted $189.00. Fast forward to 4/11 when I informed them I was unemployed they said that my appointment on 4/14 would be $0. Today, I log in for my session and I’m informed that they do not take self pay. Why wasn’t I told this on the first call? Or the second? I’ve now waited a month to get services that I desperately need. This is absolutely ridiculous. Writing this reviews in hopes someone else doesn’t get absolutely screwed when trying to better themselves and their life. Edit to add: Since your default automated response to these reviews is to follow a link and post a complaint there. I’ve already done it.
They came to my impatient stay and asked like 3 questions, then left. Since I was under a temporary detainment order I need to have a hearing in order to go home. The judge had asked horizon about my mental well being. They stated I was having delusions and that I hadn’t slept in 3 days. I never stated any of this to them but it doesn’t matter. The patient has no say once this has happened. They kept me for an additional 10 days! My work was piling up and my kid was like can you come home? When they finally discharged me I came home to a $1200 bill from these people! I called about this days ago and was told I would be receiving a call back in regards to this. I’m still waiting.
Absolutely useless. I’ve tried getting psych appointments twice here and they always make you jump through a bunch of hoops by scheduling appointments with a case manager or clinician, who provides no value at all. Then if you cancel your appointment once you’ve jumped through the hoops and decide you actually do want an appt, they make you start over all over again. It has to be a way of maximizing the number of appointments they can bill you for.
