Just an update:This company's contractual b.s. is so bad Im now filing a lawsuit. If youre looking at working with this company, here's 2 red flags to know 1-They will attempt to charge you full price months in advance to "train" on their emr. This is apparently negotiable, but you have to demand it in advance or theyll not budge after the fact 2-If you get a license for a provider that leaves, they will not prorate the license and you have to pay the rest of the year. This is not something Ive ever heard of any other EMR doing, and find it a shady business practice. The EMR itself is just ok. A step down from Athena, the only benefit is it's cheaper than Athena.

I strongly do NOT recommend ModMed especially their billing service - Boost. My practice began working with ModMed in Summer 2025 after providing all required documentation, payer details and clear billing instructions for our practice. As of January 2026, those instructions were not followed correctly, resulting in thousands of dollars in loss revenue due to improper billing, delays and missed timely filing deadlines by Boost. Working with ModMed we experienced communication delays, repeated errors and unnecessary push-back. We found ourselves explaining the same issues over and over, often to different employees, with no resolution. When errors were raised, the response was not ownership or assistance. Instead, ModMed repeatedly asked to provide examples despite having already documented issues multiple times and even when those examples were supplied, the outcome was excuses rather than fixes. Features and services promised during the sales process were not provided once we signed on. As a result, our practice was left without critical functionality, creating significant operational challenges. Additionally, ModMed sent patients incorrect bills, which created confusion, required significant staff time to resolve and negatively impacted the patient experience. The inaccurate insurance billing, poor communication, and a lack of consistent follow-through has made this a terrible experience. If you are considering ModMed for billing services, I strongly recommend exploring other options. My practice highly regrets signing on with ModMed. Based on our experience, I would not recommend ModMed, especially their Boost billing service.

This is an EHR software company for aging doctors that depend on their staff for all the electronic documentation, or doctors that graduated medical school with a D. If you have any sense of what good EHR software should look like, find someone using this already and ask to come shadow them for a day. You will see that this is obviously not it. I explored Athena a decade ago and was easily able to dismiss it, after using ModMed since 2022, I now have a luncheon scheduled with Athena and am as excited as a schoolgirl going on a first date. ModMed has sooo many great features.the glitches and login issues are the best in the business, second to none. Its lack of templating is amazing. The difficulty and lack of intuitive layout and design are award winning. The amount of clicking and lack of customization has no rival. It is already integrated with RadNet, the largest Rad service provider nationwide, we attempted to integrate with our local RIA office….and a $16k invoice appeared. This is a crooked business entity at best. At worst it’s a company of inept programmers and executives. Attempting to siphon any little residual income an independent practitioner/group may have. Paper charts are superior to ModMed. A typewriter and CMS-1500 forms put ModMed to shame

I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to warn any physician considering doing business with Modernizing Medicine. I’m a practicing physician in Florida, who was in the process of starting my own practice under an MSO. Modernizing medicine is used by many practices in the MSO I’d be with, and therefore decided to use them for my practice. After agreeing to use them, I paid $3,000 as a start up fee, however a few days later, I decided to work as an independent contractor with the MSO and requested a cancellation. They said they would get back to me in a month. After two months and multiple emails regarding the refund, I was not able to get a response. I had to go in person to the Boca Raton location to see if there is anyone that could talk to me about the cancellation. I was then told that the only means of contact is by email, and there is no phone number. Eventually, they said they would cancel the contract but keep the $3,000. As an independent contractor, Modernizing medicine would still be making monthly income from my practice. They could have refunded me the $3,000 since there was no database created and because they would still make money off me as an independent contractor. But that wasn’t enough. They did not refund $3,000 because they are greedy and they didn’t have to. Modernizing Medicine is quick to take your money and will be nowhere to be found if you have any issues or questions that require customer service. If you are a physician considering Modernizing Medicine for your EMR, do not do it. There are many other options out there at better price points, and more importantly, with customer service that isn’t complete garbage.

Left messages for weeks now and sent emails too, since November 2023 (two months)! No one calls back. Company seems too big to care about physicians, at least small practices. Nice platform if you have no problems but it is without customer care after sign up. Consider a different vendor/EMR at this point. You have been warned! I’m now looking into other EMR’s and my practice and I have been clients for 7 years….
