My supervisor told me if I could to get an advocate for my son. She didn’t know how much education means to me and how much my Dad use to drill the importance of it. I like to think of the advocacy experience as yes you can file taxes or run a business without a CPA however having one at least initially to help you understand things and maybe consult with you as your business grows is invaluable. Thank you Rich for having wonderful and truly amazing advocates to attend meetings with me since I am a single Mom and going to the meetings is intimidating as well. My advocate truly helped me and explained the process and even the terms of the IEP process itself so I can feel empowered about making a difference in my son’s educational journey. You don’t know what you don’t know until an advocate helps you to understand. Thank you WEG!
WEG has been helping me with my child's IEP after a disastrous year where the school has refused to give my child the supports they agreed to. The staff at WEG are kind, professional, attentive, and supportive. Lyn Evans has been a true blessing to work with-- she is very knowledgeable and comes prepared with a plan. I am so grateful for their help this year.
Wow, I wish I'd seen the prior review (Damonte) because we just had effectively the same experience! We, too, requested help learning about schools, and Rich matched us with Helaine Zinaman, who was nice but lacked insight into our question. Rich required a $400 (2-hour) deposit, promising that any unused amount would be refunded. Helaine didn't know how to set up a video chat. When we asked about school selection, she said, "if you're looking for a list of schools, I'm not the right person," and encouraged us to continue paying by the hour to meet with a different team member. She admitted she had not fully reviewed our materials (not that a review beyond 10 minutes was necessary given the nature of our inquiry), yet she also claimed to have spent over an hour and a quarter on her review - indeed, the precise number of minutes that, when combined with the call, brought the total to the $400 deposit. As the prior reviewer experienced, Rich was defensive and intransigent. He offered to refund no more than $100, meaning he would retain $300 for a "consultation" that provided *far* less information than a basic Google search. It makes me so sad that a business would take advantage of people in this way.
I’m incredibly grateful for the educational advocate Ravenette Gilmore, who has been helping me navigate the school system and advocate for my son with learning disabilities. From the very beginning, she has been knowledgeable, patient, and truly dedicated to making sure my son gets the support he deserves. She took the time to explain the process, helped me understand my rights as a parent, and made sure my voice was heard during meetings. Her guidance gave me the confidence to speak up and push for the resources and accommodations my son needs to succeed. If you are a parent feeling overwhelmed trying to advocate for your child, I highly recommend reaching out to the Weinfeld Education Group. Having someone in your corner who understands the system and genuinely cares makes all the difference. I’m so thankful for the support and the positive impact she’s already made for my son and our family.
I couldn’t have done it without Christie Mandeville, advocate from the Weinfeld Education Group. Christie Mandeville was wonderful to work with, very caring and knowledgeable. She fought for my daughter and made sure her needs came first, and now she will finally go back to the school where she belongs. So thankful to the WEG team. Highly recommend!
