Founded in 1936, the organization has grown to serve hundreds of individuals across Maine with a team of 201-500 employees. The organization provides a diverse range of services beyond traditional therapy, including case management, audiology services, interpreting services, speech and communication pathways, and early learning programs. Pine Tree Society's comprehensive approach reflects its mission to support the whole person across multiple life domains. Headquartered in Bath, Maine, Pine Tree Society operates an Early Learning Center with occupational therapy services and Pine Tree Camp, a 280-acre facility in Rome, Maine that has served children and adults with disabilities since 1945. The organization maintains a 4-star rating on Charity Navigator, reflecting strong organizational practices and financial health. While autism services are a key component of Pine Tree Society's offerings, the organization functions as a diversified disability services provider rather than an ABA-specific clinic. Services are designed to support individuals from early childhood through adulthood.

Knowledgable kind group of humans
Being from Bklyn, NY, we don't give 5 stars away easily! Dr. A. Franklin gets mine! Most importantly welcoming, cheery, understanding and of course incredibly knowledgeable. Making sure my 4 months in Florida present no problems. And Julie at the desk always greets you with a smile and has helped on numerous occasions so as not to disturb the doctor. As a retired dentist I can attest to the fact that these 2 individuals are true professionals. Thank you for being there!
As an immunocompromised patient, it is not safe for me to visit most medical facilities unless the risk of forgoing treatment becomes greater than the risk of entering a healthcare facility. I called about 1.5 weeks ahead to verify masking was still a requirement for this facility, as I would need to cancel my appointment if it was no longer required. I was reassured masking was required at the facility. Fast forward to my appointment, which was rescheduled for me due to staff illness. I was not thrilled having to reschedule for a time of day that does not work for me, but the testing needed to get done. However, despite turning my personal schedule absolutely upside down to accommodate this new appointment time, when I arrived, I found masking was not actually required. This sent my anxiety through the roof & I was barely able to complete testing. I do not expect people to wear masks in public or even in medical facilities, though I do think that's one area everyone should still be masking since healthcare facilities are a massive vector for the spread of any disease. Nevertheless, I called ahead to verify this facility could meet my needs, & I was assured they could. Allegedly, the mask requirements were lifted a few days prior to my appointment, which is a massive issue for someone with my particular illness. Since I had already turned my schedule upside down to accommodate this office's needs & I was already in the building & exposed, I completed the testing. I was offered the option to reschedule, but that would not solve my problem, & in fact would simply double my exposure. Little in life irks me more than being lied to, especially when I'm lied to for profit. I can not tolerate doing business with *any* business, medical or not, that lacks a reasonable amount of honesty & integrity. I will not be returning to this facility, & I urge any other immunocompromised patients to find another facility that will at least be honest about their policies if not take extra steps to create a safer environment for patients.
Very disappointing and frustrating. I had a hearing exam and subsequent hearing aid fittings with Richard. I paid all except $700 after my last fitting, and was given a receipt to verify that except for the 700, I was paid in full. Over a month later, I received a bill for the remaining $700 and for the portion I had already paid. I called and left several messages to speak with someone to straighten this out. Eventually it was straightened out and I paid the remaining $700. Now, 8 months later, I received another bill. This bill claims that this is the remainder I owe them, as my insurance had paid the rest. I called my insurance company who says they never paid anything. I've left several messages once again for Pine Tree Society Audiology to call me to get this straightened out, and I'm still waiting to hear back.
