I honestly could not have found a more understanding, compassionate and caring provider anywhere else other than with Meridian. The ease of scheduling and the staff with their office location in Louisville (minus their subcontracted billing department) are absolutely amazing and have helped me on numerous occasions with any billing questions I may have. The ONLY improvement that seriously needs to be made is with their subcontracted billing department. They are terrible, cannot answer half of my questions and most of the time they don't have accurate information with my account. Other than that, they're golden.
From the very first time I contacted this practice, the customer service has been excellent, great communication regarding explanation of services and appointments. I'm also very satisfied with the quality of their providers and the telehealth appointments have been very convenient. Irish, their coordinator, is really sweet and great with follow ups.
I've been a patient with Meridian for about 6 months now. Their testing was good, scheduled and carried out in a timely manner. The staff was friendly and personable. There was about a month between testing and getting the results, and then another month after the results before I first met with a prescriber, and then another month before I received my first prescription. The delay was partly caused by the testing required by the state prior to prescribing, but I wish I had been told to get the testing done prior to meeting with the prescriber for the first time. So far my ongoing relationship with both Ren and Spring has been very good. They've been supportive and knowledgeable about my condition and have been good about preparing me for dealing with it in a healthy and maintainable way.
Ren is the best psychiatrist I've ever had, and I've had a handful over the years. He truly cares about you as an individual and wants to see you grow and succeed. This isn't just a job for him; he wants to make the world a better, happier, safer place, and that includes all of his patients. He's saving lives. The actual practice outside of the providers? Not great. I try to turn a blind eye to it because I'm stable with my mental health and Ren is a blessing. Communication from the office staff is lacking and disjointed, the billing department is very much a loan shark, and their policies are too rigid. Mental health is never, ever cut-and-dry, black and white and life just happens too often for these policies to be so unforgiving. I understand that it's a business but you're still dealing with people's mental/emotional well-being, and I believe a bit more grace should be given to your patients, especially those with ADHD or other neurodiversities who literally struggle with executive functioning. Don't treat us like neurotypicals. Again, Ren? The best. The only reason I'm still at this practice because I couldn't see myself going to anyone else.
My partner and I had great experiences getting tested for ADHD and both of our medication doctors were incredible. The front desk however is a problem. There is no way to contact your doctor outside of your scheduled appointment. If you have any kind of side effects or problems you need advice on, you have to talk to the front desk. Even after insisting to speak to my provider, they refused. They are also unreliable when it comes to refilling prescriptions. I highly recommend them for testing, but go somewhere else to get medicated.
