Burrell Behavioral Health is a nonprofit organization founded in 1977 that operates the Burrell Autism Center, providing specialized services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, the organization has grown to serve clients across 34 locations throughout the state with a team of over 1,200 employees. The Autism Center offers a comprehensive range of services including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, diagnostic evaluations, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and mental health counseling. Services are delivered to children beginning as young as age one through the transition to adulthood at age twenty-two, with clinical staff working across multiple settings including clients' homes, community environments, schools, and Burrell facilities. Family support is a core component of the Autism Center's approach. A Family Resource Specialist works with families following an autism diagnosis, and the center periodically offers parent training opportunities specifically focused on parenting children with autism. Additional family supports include assistance with accessing needed services, IEP preparation and school consultation, and phone support through Family Support Specialists. Burrell Behavioral Health operates as a nonprofit committed to providing accessible behavioral health and autism services to southwest Missouri communities. The organization employs Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians trained to deliver evidence-based ABA therapy across diverse service settings.

Their central call center is a joke. I've been using Burrell for 2 years, and it seems like something always goes wrong. Either you never receive the call, or the online video appointment doesn't work. The most frustrating part is that you can't contact the clinic directly when there's a problem. Instead of resolving the issue, you're forced to go through endless phone menus trying to reach someone who can help. Then, after spending all that time trying to get connected, you're told you're late for your appointment and need to reschedule. I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you want to avoid the frustration.
Only for the fact the switchboard operator tabby is the only person who has gone above and beyond for me . Otherwise getting answers , asking for a transfer of psych dr it was sent to the wrong department and all anyone wanted to do was not answer or call back I went from 60mg of Prozac to nothing for 3 weeks because of a mistake in their end. But I was referred to crisis because I was crying for any one to understand
I’ve spent many years here many years ago. Something has happened to this place since 2020ish It’s gone way downhill because it’s about a nightmare to get anything done there anymore. The woman that keeps answering the phone to schedule an appointment has minimal patience. You can hear her grinding her teeth with anger through the phone if you are (politely) confused. I could write a pamphlet about this place!
Alright, here's what's up. The therapists you get are hit or miss but if at all possible, request one D. Wolf. She is fantastic at her job, has exceptional credentials and a solid background doing what she does. She is a remote worker and I've been seeing her for I can't quite remember how long but long enough and I hope to continue speaking with her. She is probably one of the few people who can actually listen and give solid, genuine advice and guidance. These people have reviews and surveys they have done on them for how they perform on duty. The surveys are hard to work with on a phone and since I don't care about owning a tower computer. You guys, and her bosses, can read mine here, publicly. Give the woman a raise, cover her medical and guarantee her a spot on your board of directors when the time is right. She deserves every bit of praise she can hear. Her background alone should've earned her a spot a long time ago. For Dr. D. Wolf, 10/10. I hope she earns a place in your guys hall of heroes and can retire knowing she has done the Ozarks a valuable service. She deserves to be able to raise her doggos and relax.
My long-time therapist is amazing. Was amazing. I'm done with Burrell. In Jan. 2025 I needed my medical records by April. 15. Burrell out sources both Medical Records and Accounting, (both of those companies have a third party themselves)! Not only did I miss the deadline and lose benefits from my insurance company as a result, but I never did get those records,so BEWARE if you want access to your records. The billing dept's 3rd party sends a monthly statement and a balance remains there even though I've made payments AND pay when I check-in for my apts... It doesn't affect the balance on my statements. The dispute over this has continued for months and I'm tired of ALL THAT IT TAKES to speak to 3rd parties and hear how they can do nothing about it since THEIR 3rd parties are where the buck stops. I would give 5 stars to my therapist and the staff at Bldg B. No stars for processes, so I give the company 1 star.
