The Lourie Center for Children's Social & Emotional Wellness is a nonprofit organization founded in 1983 by Dr. Reginald S. Lourie and colleagues including Dr. T. Berry Brazelton and Dr. Stanley Greenspan. Based in Rockville, Maryland, the Center specializes in the assessment, treatment, and prevention of emotional, behavioral, and developmental problems in infants and young children, with a particular focus on attachment and trauma-informed care. The organization operates four core programs: the Parent-Child Clinical Services Program for outpatient mental health care, the Lourie Center School serving children ages 4–12 with disabilities, the Therapeutic Nursery Program for preschool-age children, and the Early Head Start Program. The Center also offers a licensed Before and After School and Summer Camp Program through the Maryland State Department of Education's Office of Child Care. Serving the Washington metropolitan area, the Lourie Center works with children from birth through age 12 and their families, emphasizing parental involvement and skill-building as part of treatment. The organization provides services in English and Spanish and is committed to serving families regardless of ability to pay. In July 2006, the Center affiliated with Adventist HealthCare, broadening its capacity to deliver integrated health and mental health services to the community.
The Lourie Center delivers individualized ABA therapy in a center, in schools and in daycare settings, built around each child’s goals.

Was approached by an aggressive man that said I was on private property. No idea who he was. No uniform. There weren’t any kids outside (too cold anyway), so he wasn’t protecting anyone. He just randomly rolled up on me and tried to instigate an issue that didn’t exist. What a horrible experience.
I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding an unfortunate incident that occurred while I was walking with my baby and puppy near the parking lot of The Lourie Center School of the Reginald S. Lourie, in Rockville, on Tuesday Sept 2nd at 9 am this morning. During our walk, I was approached and yelled at by an individual who claimed we were "on property" and therefore not allowed to be there. This encounter was not only distressing but also alarming, especially as I was accompanied by my young infant child and pet. It is important to note that there were no visible gates, guards, or signage indicating that this area was private property or that pedestrians were prohibited from walking there. The absence of clear boundaries or restrictions led me to believe that the area was accessible to the public. I believe that everyone should feel safe and welcome when enjoying outdoor spaces, especially those with children and pets. I kindly request that you consider placing appropriate signage to clarify property boundaries and ensure that others do not experience similar harassment in the future. I hope for a resolution that promotes a more welcoming environment for all visitors.
My daughter has been trying to get appointments for a long time for her son LOURIE ,keeps canceling and postponing. What is t he problem? We are in Massachusetts
I was referred to this agency 2 years ago through my sister who spoke highly of them and the services they offer. My personal experience with this agency is that they are shady. I had a face-to-face interview with one of the coordinators who handles the early headstart program for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years but since I submitted my daughter's age and identity documents for enrollment, I have yet to receive a follow-up call or email regarding my daughter's application. She is now 2 years old and presently attending daycare. I have been trying to get her into an early headstart or pre-k program with The Lourie Center but they have been giving me the run around and it's very frustrating. I've left several voice-mail messages and emails for staff to contact me about the next steps in the application process but no one has responded back.
nice :>
